Det finns ölfestivaler och sedan är det Great American Beer Festival. Den största ölfestivalen i världen, evenemanget är delvis fyllefestival, delvis seriös öltävling med landets bästa bryggerier som kämpar om ett av de eftertraktade evenemangen i guld, silver och brons.

Evenemanget arrangeras av Brewers Association och firar både sin 40-årsdag i år och festivalens återkomst efter två år borta på grund av covid.

I år deltog 2154 9,904 bryggerier i tävlingen med 177 325 öl. Över 99 olika ölstilar bedömdes i år (ja, det är så många), men 268 olika domare. Det genomsnittliga antalet öl som anmälts i varje kategori är 18, med det högsta antalet anmälda, som alltid, i American Style India Pale Ale-kategorin. 301 bryggerier gick iväg med medialer i år, XNUMX av dem för första gången.
